One of jazz crossover’s biggest stars is set to play the Jazz Café in London Eumir is an artist that emerged from the rhythmic sounds of Latin American music and made the crossover to disco, r’n’b, pop and funk; many of his classic albums are still popular to this day. It’s now possible to visit the Forbidden Forest, made famous by the magical world of Harry Potter. The Forbidden Forest was officially opened in London on 31 March and is part of the Warner Bros. Studios Tour. The forest is depicted in both the Harry Potter books and the films and visitors can now get up close and personal with 19 trees – each 3.66m in diameter – and several life-size magical creatures from the series, including Aragog, a monstrous spider capable of speaking, and Buckbeak, a hippogriff (half-eagle, half-horse). The final leg of Brasil Junino’s European road show will be held in London, it was announced today. Brasil Junino, an international cultural exhibition that seeks to promote Brazil’s famous Festas Juninas, or June Festivals, will be hosted by the Embassy of Brazil in London from 27 May to 4 June. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London will stage a large and never before seen exhibition about the legendary British rock band Pink Floyd. The Pink Floyd Exhibition: The Mortal Remains will mark the group’s first project together since the 1980s, and will commemorate 50 years since the launch of Arnold Layne, the band’s very first single. This February sees yet another attraction make its way to London: an exhibition of the photography of the Brazilian artist Cristina Schleder, which will be open to the public at the Embassy of Brazil, from 10 to 23 February. Cristina, who is 64 and lives in São Paulo, studied Visual Communication in her home city, and has worked there ever since.
