The band Bixiga 70, who made shot to fame with a series of critically acclaimed albums, are coming to London again this year. Formed in 2010, the band’s ten talented musicians got together in São Paulo, and have a contemporary sound that mixes Brazilian and African influences, including jazz, funk, samba, reggae and even a little electronica, carimbó and ethio-jazz. Roger José Cury, better known as Rogê, is a well-known and highly respected Brazilian samba singer and composer. Ten years since their last official tour of the country, The Rolling Stones recently returned to Brazil. The band performed four concerts, in São Paulo (twice), Rio de Janeiro, and Porto Alegre. Throughout his visit Mick Jagger was accompanied by a BBC film crew as part of a fly-on-the-wall documentary that will air in July this year, when the lead singer turns 73.

The project Beatles for Children was created by teacher, musician and musical director Fabio Freire. With more than ten years of experience of teaching music to children, Freire, having already released four children’s CD compilations and starred in various musical and theatrical productions, got together with three other musicians and actor Gabriel Manetti to create this show. Late last year the world lost Ian Fraiser Kilmister, better known as Lemmy, the bassist, lead singer and founder of English rock band, Motörhead.
