Exhibition of Brazilian Artist Lucia Nogueira

0

Lucia Nogueira was an artist from Goiânia, but her work is better known in the UK than in her native Brazil.

After graduating in Journalism in 1975 she moved to London, where she studied painting at both the Chelsea College of Arts and the Central School of Art and Design, creating an impressive body of work that included sculptures, videos and drawings, often inspired by the body and the relationships between objects and language.

The legacy of the artist, who passed away prematurely in 1998 and was recognised by the Cartier Foundation in 1993 and the Paul Hamlyn Award for Visual Arts in 1996, will be the feature of a special exhibition this autumn in the nation’s capital.  More information on the site www.anthonyreynolds.com
