Lia Sophia to perform in London

0

Even though Lia Sophia was born in French Guiana, her heart belongs to Brazil. She moved to the Brazilian city of Amapá when she was two years old, and from that point on it was clear where her musical influences came from.

Lia is a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist, and also one of Brazil’s most prominent advocates of the country’s rhythms. Her melodies take listeners to the Amazon, with their tinges of Carimbó and Guitarrada (Brazilian musical genres), whilst taking in international sounds like the zouk (a slow lambada beat, originally from the French Antilles), combining these influences to make tropical sounding, vibrant, dance songs.

Luckily for the Brits, Lia is all set to perform here at Brazil Day, on 10 September.
