With a Brazilian cast a crew, filmed in Londrina in the South of Brazil and spoken in Portuguese, the film My One and Only (Laura) is an adaptation of a BBC play, written by the British playwright Dawn King.

The theme is today’s obsession with constant communication. Laura ends her relationship with her married lover, Ben, and goes on a date with Noah, who she met on an online relationship website. As the story unwinds we observe how the virtual world can conceal unexpected dangers, with things often turning out badly for everyone involved.

After the film’s showing, the Director Jonathan Murphy will take part in a round of questions and answers.

Although Cineclub Brazil’s meetings are free of charge, make sure you confirm your presence via the email culturalbrazil.rsvp@gmail.com, as space is limited.

Anyone arriving after 7pm will not be able to enter.
