London buses introduces new technologies

0

Famous for their traditional, classic red double-decker design, the famous London buses have recently shown that they are also capable of being highly modern and technologically advanced.

Electronic chargers with USB ports fitted into the seats and screens that update with details of the bus’s route are just some of the upgrades announced for the buses in the second half of this year.

Powered by electricity, the new London bus also stands out for being much cleaner, producing 40% less CO2 emissions than its predecessors.

According to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, the new fleet will be introduced gradually, the first two routes being this year: the 507 route, which goes from Waterloo to Victoria, and the 521 route, which goes from Waterloo to London Bridge.

The move is part of the Mayor’s commitment to reduce CO2 emissions to zero for the bus network by 2020.

Well done, London! Setting a great example for the rest of the world, once again!
