With a career spanning more than 50 years in which Joyce Moreno has performed alongside names like Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethania, Gilberto Gil and Gal Costa, the singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, she will play her latest album, entitled “Cool” in London this October as part of her European tour.

The idea behind the album is to mix classic North American jazz with creative touches of samba and MPB, in homage to her deep Brazilian roots

Compositions by Cole Porter, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, amongst some of the singer’s other inspiring childhood heroes, receive a makeover with new versions that celebrate the free spirit and vitality of Brazilian music.

A must see show for music lovers who enjoy the rich and creative fusion of borderless music genres.

When: 3 October, 7pm

Where: Jazz Cafe – 5 Parkway, Camden – London NW1 7PG
