Rio 2016 – Houses of Nations set to remain open during the Paralympics

A huge hit during the Olympics, with cultural and gastronomic attractions, the Houses of Nations are already being missed in Rio. The good news though is that some of them will keep their doors open until the end of the Paralympics, from 7 to 18 September.

Check out this list with dates, prices and where to find the houses which will be open:

Japan

When: 7 to 18 September, Noon to 8pm (except 17 September)

Where: Cidade das Artes – Av. das Américas, 5300 – Barra da Tijuca.

Price: Free entry

Mexico

When: until 15 September, Tuesday to Friday, 10am until 5:30pm and Weekends, 2pm – 6pm

Where: Museu Histórico Nacional – Praça Marechal Âncora, s/n – City Centre

Price: Free entry to public spaces, R$ 8 (less than two pounds) for entry to the exhibitions. Free entry on Sundays.

Switzerland

When: until 18 September, daily from 11am-11pm

Where: Baseball Ground at the Rodrigo de Freitas Lake, close to the Cantagalo court. The General Osório metro station has an exit onto Avenida Epitácio Pessoa, which will get you close to Swiss House

Price: Free entry (get there early, as once the House is full there are no more entries)

Germany

When: 7 to 18 September, Thursday to Sunday, 2:30pm to 9:30pm

Where: Leblon Beach (opposite 12 Av. Delfim Moreira, beside the Jardim de Alah Canal)

Price: Free entry

South Korea

When: 7 to 18 September (opening hours TBC)

Where: Kiosks QL03/ QL04 (Avenida Atlântica, Leme Beach)

Price: Free entry

Italy

When: 6 to 17 September (opening hours TBC)

Where: Paróquia Imaculada Conceição (Rua Humberto Cozzo, 41, Recreio)

Price: TBC

Colombia

When: 5 to 18 September, 10am to 8pm

Where:  Health Ministry Cultural Centre (Praça Marechal Âncora 95, Praça XV, City Centre)

Price: Free entry

Great Britain

When: 7 to 18 September, 9am to 10pm

Where: Metropolitano Shopping Centre (Av. Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, 1300, Barra)

Price: Free entry, however, you will need to register on the oficial website and request an invitation, as there are a limited number of spaces available

Brazil

When: 19 August to 6 September, 2pm to 8pm; 7 to 18 September, 10am to 8pm. The House is open seven days a week.

Where: Avenida Rodrigues Alves, 10 (Mauá Pier) –Portuária Zone (City Centre)
