Seu Jorge’s tribute to David Bowie
Seu Jorge is one of Brazil’s most celebrated musical talents. The Brazilian singer-songwriter is set to take his UK fans on an emotional journey by performing covers of some of Bowie’s greatest hits in a deeply personal tribute concert, naturally with a pinch of Brazilian “bossa” thrown in for good measure.
Jorge played to a packed Royal Albert Hall in 2017, accompanied only by his guitar, which proved inspiration for Bowie’s songbook. Since then, he has performed to sell-out crowds at the Hollywood Bowl and the Philharmonie in Paris.
Tickets, on sale since September 2018, are available at www.comono.co.uk/live/seu-jorge-11/
When: 8 February 2019
Where: Eventim Apollo – 45 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9QH
SAMBA DO CHAPÉU
Samba do Chapéu was formed in 2017 when a group of friends decided to channel their musical ambitions as a way of combatting those chilly London nights. The band’s repertoire is diverse, ranging from authentic samba, bossa nova and forró to some of the more established British classics, fused, only naturally, with a little Brazilian rhythm. Rafael Valim, André Luis, Rogerio Vercosa, Kadu Almeida and Rodrigo Ritter make up Samba do Chapéu and their music appeals to all ages.
