Gilberto Gil

When it comes to popular Brazilian music, Gilberto Passos Gil Moreira, or Gilberto Gil, is one of the most influential singer-songwriters of all time. His long list of awards and accolades, including two Grammys, serve as testament to his worldwide appeal. While more immediately recognised as a pioneer of the Tropicália movement, his music has incorporated various genres over the years, including rock, samba reggae and African music.

Anitta

The singer is set to perform on a stage that has graced some of the world’s biggest stars. The Royal Albert Hall, one of London’s most premier venues, will host Anitta in June 28 for a night that promises to be one of the liveliest of the season. Her song Indecente was an instant success in Brazil, with more than 4.5 million plays on Spotify, and counting.

Caetano Veloso

Caetano is a musician, producer, composer, and writer with a career spanning over five decades. His musical catalogue is one marked by renewed interpretation and invention and has received critical acclaim for its intellectual and poetic insight.

He is one of the most important names in Brazilian music and is widely considered to be one of the most influential composers of the twentieth century, keeping good company with the likes of Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Maria Rita

 

Maria Rita, one of Brazil’s most popular contemporary artists, returns to London after her debut performance back in 2010.

Her new show sees the performer return to her roots of bossa nova, samba and jazz. The singer will thrill fans with her greatest hits, as well as some classics originally penned for her mother, Elis Regina, one of the most respected and important Brazilian singers of the modern era.
