London’s biggest caipirinha, Brazilian cocktails, food and drinks festival dishes out the accolades across a range of categories
The third edition of The London Caipirinha Festival, a mouth-watering event created to promote the famous Brazilian cocktail, has officially announced its list of winners in 2019 across all categories.
The event, which was created and organised by VBRATA (Visit Brazil Travel, Cultural & Business Association), was staged with the support of some prominent partners, including the Embassy of Brazil in London.
The London Caipirinha Festival is the largest annual Brazilian cocktails, food and drinks competition in London, created to stimulate general interest in Brazilian gastronomy, culture, tourism and, more specifically, promote cachaça through the national cocktail, caipirinha, to Londoners.
The competition took place over a period of 10 days, from 20 – 30 July 2019, and encouraged Londoners to visit the 34 participating bars and restaurants and, having sampled their respective entries, vote for their favourites. The public votes, cast on the festival website, carried a 50% weighting of the final scores, whilst the remaining 50% was determined by an expert jury, who visited each establishment to assess the respective entries and services.
“We are delighted with the results of this year’s London Caipirinha Festival with an enormous increase in people voting on their favourites as well as the selected bars and restaurants competing for the various titles. The aim of the London Caipirinha Festival is to promote Brazil as a cultural, touristic and gastronomic destination to increase the interest of Londoners to visit Brazil and consume Brazilian products, not only in London but also in Europe as we have just finalised the second edition of the Madrid Caipirinha Festival which was also a success” stated Chris Fuzinatto Chairman of VBRATA Visit Brazil Travel Association and creator of the Caipirinha Festivals.
