Celebrating his 80th birthday, Hermeto Pascoal arrives in London with his new show.
Accompanied by his usual band, Pascoal is due to put on a show along with some of Britain’s principal musicians, who will join him on stage as part of a 90s themed concert.
Hermeto was born in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Alagoas. Ever since he was small he has been interested in the sounds of nature. The first contact he had with a musical instrument was with his father’s 8 bass accordion. Throughout his career he has appeared on radio and TV programmes in Brazil.
With the group Quarteto Novo (New Quartet), playing piano and flute, he made innovative, refined, richly harmonious music. Pascoal recorded two LP’s in the USA, as well as working as a composer.
Recognised worldwide for his talent and creativity, the multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal will finally make his presence felt on British soil.
