Legoland UK – An amazing family break!

As a pair of mothers we decided that to celebrate our sons’ fifth birthdays, instead of throwing a joint party, we would take them away for a one-night stay at the Legoland resort, in Windsor. We booked the rooms well in advance to get a better deal. The kids were so excited (and so were the adults)! The adventure begins at the resort’s entrance where, as expected, the Lego themed decoration makes any grown up feel like a child again (and the real kids go berserk)! The staff are really helpful and the children were so entertained by the activities available in the reception area that it was difficult to convince them that there was more (much more) to the resort.

We booked two differently themed rooms, one Pirates and one Adventure. The rooms were very comfy, and once again, the Lego themed decoration was fantastic. The staff left a treasure map for the birthday boys to find their welcome/birthday gift. We had early access to the park and chose the more popular rides first, so as to avoid long queues once the park opened. legoland1The submarine ride was their favourite, but top points go to the cinema, driving school and the water rides. The hotel services did not disappoint either; dinner and breakfast offered a menu for all tastes and the food was excellent. The only drawback was that checkout at 10am is a little early (check-in is at 3pm, but there is a safe place to leave your language earlier if you wish). The indoor pool was another high point of our stay. The kids never got tired of the adventure and we even got to watch a firework display within the park. It’s definitely a place that we want to go revisit!!
