The English capital is to host an exhibition of Fernanda Merlino’s art – a Brazilian painter who has been living in England for almost twenty years.
With an organic and colourful style, inspired by the narratives of characters such as Frida Kahlo, the Brazilian artist, born in São Paulo, has studied art at renowned institutions in the United Kingdom, such as Central Saint Martins, Kensington & Chelsea College, Chelsea College of Art and Design and Goldsmiths College.
Her work consists of landscapes and collages constructed using materials such as pencil, oils and acrylics, with abstract lines, shapes and paints. She explores the density of different textures, with thick layers of plaster, glue and sand, resulting in strikingly beautiful sets of aesthetics.
The opening event, entitled “Smell of Paint”, will take place on 5 December, at 6pm.
