Over the course of the Rio 2016 Games, each and every participating country will have their own official House. There are a total of 52, and the most special, as far as BBMag is concerned, are of course those belonging to Brazil and Great Britain.
Brazil House is at 10 Avenida Rodrigues Alves, Armazém 2, Gamboa. Opening hours are 10am-8pm, and the house will remain open until 18 September. With Brazil being the host country, Brazil House will be doing its best to promote tourism to the country. It is also where all of Team Brazil’s athletes will be staying.
British House is located in Parque Lage, at 414 Rua Jardim Botânico, Jardim Botânico, whilst the House to be used by Britain’s Paralympians during the Paralympics is in the Metropolitano Shopping Centre, at 1300 Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, Barra da Tijuca. The houses will be open from 5 to 21 August and 7 to 18 September, respectively. The programme is intended to show the best that the UK has to offer, including cultural aspects and business opportunities. Anyone interested in visiting either house will need to register their interest at the website: https://www.britishhouserio.com/ and wait for confirmation.
